Growing again: Express Scripts announces expansion, hiring plans

George Paz

St. Louis-based Express Scripts, the nation’s leading pharmacy benefit manager, plans to build a new $56 million expansion and hire 1,500 new employees by 2018.

The addition of a new administrative office building will bring the company’s St. Louis footprint to 1 million square feet. The state is assisting with the expansion and job growth, offering a strategic incentive package if Express Scripts meets strict job creation and investment criteria, according to a release from the Missouri Department of Economic Development.

“Express Scripts is a company that is proud to be born and raised in Missouri, and we look forward to continuing our growth here,” said George Paz, chairman and CEO of Express Scripts, in a press release. “We are pleased to be a catalyst for economic growth in our region and across the state, and we expect to do more in the future.”
