Acting on Energy—Ameren plans efficiency programs

Ameren Missouri plans to invest $135 million over three years to support a broad portfolio of energy efficiency programs for business and residential customers.

The new energy efficiency plan includes 10 programs specifically designed to help the company’s business and residential customers reduce their energy use and save money. The programs offer a variety of energy-saving opportunities, from reduced prices on energy efficient lighting to efficient HVAC replacement rebates and appliance recycling incentives, according to a release from Ameren Missouri.

The plan, which has been filed with the Missouri Public Service Commission, is expected to provide more than $260 million in total customer benefits over the next 20 years. If approved, the ActOnEnergy programs will begin in January 2016.

Since 2009, Ameren Missouri has invested approximately $155 million in energy efficiency programs, resulting in more than 1.25 million megawatt-hours saved annually by customers, which is equivalent to the energy consumption of more than 100,000 average Missouri homes.
