Springfield Among Best for New Business and Startup Funding
Personal finance site WalletHub has named Springfield as one of the best cities in the nation to start a business.
WalletHub analyzed 13 variables in relation to access to resources and business environment. The study evaluated 150 of the largest US cities in regards to financing accessibility, office space affordability, employee availability, five-year survival rate, and other business signifiers to rank the best cities to start a business. Springfield came in at No. 3.
The city also topped a related list regarding resources for startups.
“The success of the eFactory and programs like 1 Million Cups, SPIN66, and Startup Weekend have created a flurry of entrepreneurial activity in Springfield,” says Ryan Mooney, Senior Vice President of Economic Development at the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce.
